The Power of Choice
Everyday, every moment, comes down to choices. Not just what to have for lunch, or if taking the freeway will be faster than surface streets during rush hour, but we make tiny, minuscule choices during the day which ultimately make up your entire life.
Choosing to have just one more cookie, even if you don’t realize you’re doing it – and trust me, this sometimes happens to the best of us, especially if there are Girl Scout cookies involved – Or choosing to blow off a meeting, or thinking about how to respond to a text or email. These are all choices. You make choices even when you think you don’t actually have a choice in the matter at all. The reality is, it’s still a choice.
My task for you this week – be conscious of your choices. What are you choosing to do? Are you choosing to bitch about your cranky neighbor/coworker or do you choose to express your appreciation for a friend’s generosity and kindness?
The things you choose to do, think and say, make up the sum total of your life. When choosing to do something, choose the one that is going to make you feel good about yourself, or help someone out, or fill your heart or someone else’s with joy.
Choose your words wisely. If you are always expressing something in the negative – switch it up and say it in a more positive light. Not only will this change your mood, outlook and the energy you are sending out to the universe, but it will also attract positive people and things to you in the process.
Until next time,
