Along my journey through life, I’ve developed an absolute LOVE of reading. I believe everyone is a work in progress, and that when you stop learning, you stop living. With that in mind, I had the inspiration to share my love of books and learning with you all.
At the beginning of each month, I will be posting a book I’ll be reading with the hope that some of you will read along and give your feedback as well. At the end of the month, I’ll post my review / commentary about the book along with opening it up for commentary by those of you following along.
My first book club pick is:
Get Your Girl Back, Revisit What's Possible for your Life
by Traci Bild
Why I chose this book:
I chose this book because so often in life these days, women are told to act more like men, when part of the magic we hold as women is our feminine power. Growing up, I was the only girl on both sides of my family, which meant that if I wanted to hang out and play with the kids and not the moms cooking in the kitchen, I needed to 'suck it up' and stop acting like a girl. This took its toll on my psyche over time and I didn't even realize it until I started peeling back the layers to look at where some of my negative habits, and emotional responses were coming from. I thought this book might help unravel some of this for me and ultimately it might resonate with some of you.
Get Your Girl Back, Revisit What's Possible for your Life is all about rediscovering your inner girl and learning how you don’t necessarily need to ‘have it all’ but to ‘have YOUR all’. It is a workbook inside of a book that I thought would be fun to help explore ways I can change and grow by doing the exercises Traci provides within the chapters.
Looking forward to sharing my thoughts about this book in a couple of weeks.
